I thought that the prince was black creole? Oh well, he is dark enough to be light-skinned. So I don't have to boycott. I can pretend. LOL

And to some who would say, "What's the big deal?"

Look --
Pay attention to this media and get off this 'we are the world' crap... Most adult black actors in mainstream films don't seem to be able to have black love interests unless black people are directing and producing... The black man and the white woman are thrown out there as the standard symbols of beauty. And now this? Well what can be said?

What is this? "Something New": The Kiddie Edition?
Everyone saw how deeply affected black children were at te election of Obama. Black people know what a black Princess will mean to many little black girls across the country. It's more than some silly cartoon. Many things are tied into it. So how would a white prince (for instance) play out on the psyche?
So...not EVEN in a cartoon can black males and females be together?

Say what you will -- but Disney wouldn't DARE put Cinderella or Snow White with black men!
With the exception of Pocahontas(which was lifted from long tales concerning their relationship), EVERY other princess is placed with her natural opposite. Even Simba was paired up with Nahla.
Why not Princess Tiana (if her prince is not black)?
We finally get a Disney princess and she can't even have her prince? Is a black male not good enough...or what?

Love is love. I have germans, mexicans and everything else in my family. My background is mixed...but hey-- what slave descendant doesn't have white and/or native american (and other) in their ancestry. Yet, I am black. I look it --was reared in the culture-- therefore I am. That's how it is. Thta's how America works.
My boyfriend is Dominican so don't think I'm anti-interracial/interethnic dating. I'm not.
But multiculturalism in this instance can shove it. These people need to petition Disney to create their own interracial movies. It is about us not them. Let their progress be at their own backs...and not at OUR expense.
