John Badalament, Ed.M., is the author of the newly released Modern Dads Dilemma: How To Stay Connected with Your Kids in a Rapidly Changing World (New World Library, 2010) and the Director of the PBS documentary, All Men Are Sons: Exploring the Legacy of Fatherhood. He is an internationally recognized speaker on parenting and leader in the fatherhood field. John’s work has been featured on ABC News, NPR and in Men’s Health Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Rocky Mountain News,and The National PTA Magazine.

John is a graduate of Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Over the last 20 years, he has worked in schools as a Dean, teacher and coach, clinical settings as a counselor for adolescents and adults, and in private practice with couples. He served on the Board of Advisors for the Men’s Resource Center with other international leaders in the fields of fatherhood, gender, domestic violence, and education. In 2009, John was recognized in the New York Times by the Family Violence Prevention Fund’s Founding Fathers campaign to end violence against women and children.

Currently, John consults with schools, parent groups, organizations, mental health professionals, corrections facilities, religious groups and corporations. He is also finishing work on his new documentary film entitled, Gender Traps: How Marriage Problems Start In Kindergarten.

John lives in the Boston area with his wife and two children.
