Dispose-It-Guard Disposal Guard is the best thing ever and it’s one of those items you can’t believe no one has invented before. Simple, simple tool, blocks disposal drain for everyday use, and when you want to throw stuff down the disposal, you lift it out or move it to the side. You can use the long part to push food into the disposal, rather than getting your fingers into it, or to push down long pieces of melon rind or grapefruits. Other disposal covers we’ve used meant you had to stick your fingers on some gooey handle; this one, though it could be longer, is raised about an inch so it’s not always covered with slime. With other covers, too, you’d have to move them aside to let water in, and inevitably water filled with debris would spray up out of the drain. This tool has holes in the cover, so water doesn’t spray up.
I don’t know if it’s a fathers day present or not, but if I had just heard of this, I would buy one today. Well done Disposal Guard company!
I’ve had several friends and relatives who stuttered and know how painful it can be. If you’re a dad of stutterer, find help for your child and learn to be as patient as you can.
During vacation and throughout the year, there are things parents can do to help a child who stutters. The Stuttering Foundation,www.StutteringHelp.org, offers these tips:
First, if I were to go on to say that San Francisco is about to outlaw female circumcision, what would your opinion be?
Actually, the City by the Bay, as reported by SFGate.com, has received enough signatures on a petition to add a no male circumcision initiative to the November ballot. The proposal would ban male circumcision, with no religious exemptions. Violators would be guilty of a misdemeanor offense and subject to a $1000 fine. Female circumcision is already illegal everywhere in the United States.
It didn’t seem like more than an irritation at the time, but now skin cancers are far more prevalent as a lifetime of bad sun exposure leaves its mark. … We need to protect our kids more than ever and that means forcing them to wear hats, rash guards, and plenty of sunscreen even for short trips in the sun, and especially on grey days when they think they are safest. … Luckily, it’s also one of the most treatable cancers, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need to be worried about preventing it.

I know because I’ve had a BMW 3 series convertible since our kids were born (had to ditch the Z3 however), and they ended up there quite often, though it was a pain because of the single doors. Newer models all have significant roll-bar protection, but as with all car seats, make sure they are very tightly fastened. … Since my kids could express an opinion, they’ve loved having the top down, but it’s only been recently that I’ve done so with no regard to the stares of fellow motorists.
