Faces iMake is all about creating faces from every day stuff.
Developed by iMagine Machine in conjunction with internationally renowned author and illustrator Hanoch Piven, and based on his highly acclaimed and sold out Art Workshops around the world, Faces iMake teaches you to look at the world around you with fresh eyes.
Piven, says about Faces iMake:
"I wanted Faces iMake to be a virtual workshop, and reflect what happens in the real world when you work with objects. Therefore you can rotate and move objects around but you cannot resize them. This limitation which might seem annoying at first makes you become more resourceful and creative. The idea is to play and to play some more. All great art is born from playing. Therefore Faces iMake is a game as much as it is an art workshop."
FACES IMAKE FEATURES:
*Start with 20 different face shapes
*Select from over 100 objects to make faces
*Rotate and layer objects
*Save faces to your photo gallery or assign to contacts
*Including Piven’s own Art Lessons filmed in his studio in Barcelona
*Upload your masterpieces to Facebook or share them by email
Faces iMake reminds us of the art of Guiseppe Archimboldo, the 16th century Italian painter, famous for his portraits made up entirely of a collage of fruits and vegetables. In Faces iMake too, the user moves objects around to represent key faces of the face, though has a far wider palette of things to choose from.
We like this application as an innovative way to look at the world, and to teach kids, probably 8+ the use of symbols and metaphors. A button can be an eye or a nose, for example. Faces iMake encourages creativity, imagination, and playtime together. Dad can challenge kids to make faces of the whole family, and then share them by email or Facebook.
This is a good iPhone application for the waiting room or grocery store line, and a simple pleasure that's less guilty than yet another race car game.
