| For many years the FAA has strongly urged that children who weigh between 22-44 lbs. and are in their own seats be restrained by car seats approved for use in airplanes. But there is a sensible solution to traveling safe with kids. CARES (stands for Child Aviation Restraint System) is the first alternative to a car seat to be certified for use in airplanes for children either too old (over 2) or too large (22-44 lbs.) to sit in their parent's lap - and who are in their own airplane seat. It is a belt and buckle device specifically designed for aviation use. It weighs one pound and fits into a 6” stuff sack – portable, simple to install, adjustable to virtually any size airplane seat. With the new CARES device, the child sits in the airplane seat while the CARES belt is being installed. The FAA has determined that CARES greatly improves safety for young children over the airplane lap belt alone, and provides a level of safety equal to car seats. Installation is simple and takes less than a minute to learn how it’s done. Comes with an instructional video and card in an easy-to-handle carrying case. Dads who travel with young children are concerned about the safety of their children when taxiing, the takeoffs, the turbulence and the landings. Not to mention having to lug around a car set when they already have enough carry-ons, there’s diaper bags, toy bags, snack sacks, extra this, extra that, and, of course… the big, unwieldy, clumsy car seat.
With the CARES device you don't have to lug around a car seat and this restraint is easy to install, not to mention that your child will have a much more comofrtable trip, as will Dad.
