The GeoPalz is an easy-to-use pedometer that sits on your child’s belt or waistband, and comes in several kid-friendly characters. Design lines currently available include “Sports,” “Rock,” “Fantasy,” “Edgy,” “Cutesy” and newly-released “SkelanimalsTM.” Each GeoPalz comes with its own unique code that the children use for their first time registration. This process is very simple and only has three screens for them to navigate through. GeoPalz is the first activity tracker and online game that records your child’s physical activity by tracking steps throughout the day and encourages them to be active by tracking their steps online to win prizes and awards.
At the end of each day, children are encouraged to login to www.geopalz.com and manually enter their steps, which are then converted into miles or “pedpointz.” All steps are converted into miles/pedpointz based on the formula of 2,500 steps equals one mile and one mile equals one pedpoint.
Families can use the GeoPalz.com community to track their steps as groups, using GeoPalz or any other pedometer. This way, family hikes, walks and games can help contribute to family fun and fitness.
GeoPalz is a fun way to get kids out and get active. Walking/hiking dads will love how a simple pedometer, connected to a simple website can motivate kids to take steps every day. GeoPalz themselves are very simple pedometers, calibrated for little legs. They count daily steps, which kids enter into a fun website. Dads don't have to worry that the website has chat or mail; all it does is add up the steps and send a weekly report to dad or mom. When kids accumulate enough steps, they can win a $5 iTunes card or a small toy. For some kids. that's enough to keep them walking. And walking. We also liked the lessons it teaches kids, from adding up steps and "feet" to miles and also saving steps to earn a prize later.
