Audiences are familiar with the enchanted underwater world of Ariel, King Triton, Sebastian, and Flounder. But life in the deep sea kingdom of Atlantica wasn't always concerts and melodies. It's all explained in The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning.

It's the story of a younger Ariel in a time when music was banned from the kingdom. Reprising their roles as Ariel and Sebastian, vocal talents Jodi Benson and Samuel E. Wright create a new spellbinding chapter in this Disney princess' saga. With new fishy friends and foes, and bubbling up with new beats, this prequel splashes onto DVD August 26th!

GreatDad Celebrity Dad Contest: Tell us your favorite celebrity dad, real or fictional, and why. Use the comment form below to let us know your vote. We'll draw three winners from the best responses on August 16 who will get a free DVD of The Little Mermaid.

Read the rules and regulations.

Contest Update: The contest is closed. See the winner's page.

By Laura,   From Biloxi
I think my dad is the best dad you could ever have. He never fails to amaze me. He raised myself and my two sisters all by himself and did it with such style, grace and a wonderful sense of humor. I think now of all the embarassing questions and situations he was put through with three girls and yet besides turning red he never failed to answer them. He was always there to listen to our heartbreaks and he really did listen. He wiped away tears from our skinned knees and skinned hearts. He helped us to believe in ourselves and and never doubt that we were just as good as everyone else. He also taught us to appreciate what we had instead of worrying about what others had and we did not. Today we are all grown up and know that we are who we are today because of him. He has Macular Degeneration and cannot see anymore yet when we are with him he still sees our heart and souls. He is the best mom and dad I could have ever asked for.
