It would have to take something big to pry GreatDad staff (Mani Kulasooriya and I) from carpool duty to take a one day-and-night trip to Las Vegas. And the something was the annual ABC Kids Expo (September 10-13 2006), the biggest trade show of new kids' gizmos, furniture, and toilet accessories you'd ever want to see. We went looking for new stuff dads would like, and to meet lots of like minded dads. Look for two new features in the coming weeks on dad gadgets, as well as "made by dads for dads," a new series on dads who gave up their day job to bring a parenting product to market. We were wowed by the enthusiasm of guys like Jeff Zinger with his Walk-o-Long, Brett Cohen and his Stroller Safety Flag, and Dr. Preston Smith, a urologist pediatrician who has invented new products for toilet training.
