Homework can pose a challenge for some kids, but fathers can help the task run more smoothlyAs parents, we can chalk homework up to one of those "been there, done that" life experiences. But for our children, homework assignments can cause a lot of stress, especially if they're struggling to get it done night after night.

There are many ways fathers and mothers can help their children manage their homework.

Among the advice other parents who have experienced homework meltdowns offer is to eliminate distractions by creating an organized homework area in your home. A desk, quiet area or kitchen table will work well as long as the TV isn't on, other kids aren't playing nearby and potential distractions are eliminated.

Getting kids into the habit of doing their homework at the same time each night is also a good idea, as it can help them avoid procrastinating.

When it comes to larger assignments or projects that will take more than one night to complete, fathers may consider helping their children organize the assignment into smaller tasks to make it more manageable.

Parents should also avoid doing their kids' assignments or correcting homework for them, since teachers often use homework to gauge how well students are grasping the material.

Remember that working with your children's teachers for solutions on homework management can be extremely helpful and may allow instructors to better ascertain which subjects require more of their attention.ADNFCR-1662-ID-19732523-ADNFCR
