Three ways to beat back the winter bluesEveryone knows winter is terrible. Men must suffer through cold days, long nights, and, to add insult to injury, women are and women are obscured under layers of bulky sweaters and scarves. However, just because the scenery is bleak does not mean you have to succumb to the winter blues.

There are a number of ways to combat that seasonal depression that plagues most dads during the coldest months, but here are the three of the best ones.

1. Start drinking Irish coffee. While coffee is a suitable winter drink on its own, why not add a little something extra? Put some whiskey in your java to ease the pain of shoveling and roof raking (a second cup may be necessitated if your wife brings up your to-do list)

2. Go to the skating rink. We're not suggestions ice skating - that will only make your winter blues worse. Instead, go to laugh at the misfortune of others. Watching that 16-year-old doofus trying to impress his date while flailing around miserably is almost as good as a movie (and it turns out that enjoying the pain of others is free).

3. Start a snowball fight. Kids love them, adults love them, and there's nothing more satisfying than nailing your annoying neighbor in the head with a snowball. Even if he wasn't participating.
