Michael Douglas: Family bond is magical

Though he plays a smooth-talking uncle in the current film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, when he's at home Michael Douglas says he's all about fatherhood.

In a recent interview with Ok! Magazine, the 64-year-old actor said he was enjoying being a dad, despite having kids at an older age.

"I have the attention, the time, the priority," Douglas said. "This is not a business that you can balance your family life with your professional life. When your priority becomes family first, you really get to enjoy and savor these incredible years of super-fast growing spurts. It's a bond that's magical."

The two-time Academy Award winner has two children, 8-year-old Dylan and 6-year-old Carys, with 39-year-old wife Catherine Zeta Jones.
According to Douglas, the children seem to be inheriting their parents' interest in the performing arts. Dylan takes acting class while Carys is in ballet.

"It wouldn't surprise me if, like a lot of children, they go into the careers that their parents might be in," Douglas said. "I think they'll see the pitfalls and the great advantages. It is a gypsy life. I'll support my children in whatever they decide to do." ADNFCR-1662-ID-19184789-ADNFCR
