Stay active, drink green tea to prevent colds this winterGetting a cold is not fun for anybody, but for an active dads, feeling sick is especially tough. Having to corral your kids while coughing up substances you didn't know existed can make parenting even more difficult than it already it is. There are several ways to help combat a cold that will have fathers up and running with their kids in no time.

Making a nutritious breakfast is always important, but according to Men's Health magazine, it is even more crucial for dad's who are feeling under the weather. Eating a healthy meal first thing in the morning has numerous health benefits. It will boost the immune system and increase antiviral agents in the blood.

Every one knows what that 2:30 p.m. feeling feels like, and a lot of people's natural instinct is to grab a cup of coffee. However, when you're sick, experts suggest pouring yourself a cup of green tea instead. Compounds found in the brew can squash viruses and have you feeling better in no time.

The best way to get better is to not get sick in the first place, and research has shown that people who exercise regularly are less likely to get sick. Staying active will be the final piece to the puzzle to being a healthy dad able to keep up with his kids.
