A lot of learning happens by way of entertainment. Children tend to remember things better if they enjoy learning it, and as long as it does not feel like school curriculum.

Play Communication Games
There are good games to help your child build his communication skills. Allow your kids to play such games with you. A round of dumb charades, or pictionary with your wife and kids, Who Am I, or other games that you can think of will be more than just games for your children.
