Peter Andre has been officially accorded recognition for playing a role he takes very seriously—that of a caring and devoted dad. The Aussie pop star has been voted father of the year in the UK.
Thirty-five-year old Andre, who is married to Katie Price, a former glamor model also known as Jordan, is the father of Princess Tiaamii, aged 11 months, and Junior aged two years. Besides, he is also the stepfather of six-year-old Harvey, Price's son before her marriage to Andre. The crooner did not rule the possibility of there being more children in the future: he is known to have said that he is "not even halfway there" on the question of having more kids!
Currently doing a reality show with Jordan that features his life at home, Andre first appeared on Australian TV's New Faces during 1990. He later went on to become hugely popular with hits such as the Mysterious Girl in the UK.
More than 2000 mothers across the UK voted in the poll to vote in Andre as the father of the year. Describing himself as "over the moon", the pop star did confess to having wanted this kind of recognition. "For the last couple of years I've been saying that if there's any kind of award I could win it would be dad of the year," he has revealed.
