GreatDad Games for Kids

Both of these CD-ROMs, as well as others in the collection from Scholastic, are similar in content to the I SPY books. The computer version goes one step further by reading the words in the text when you roll over them. This ensures that the kids can play the games even before they can read. Additionally, the games involve longer stories that are both interesting and require a certain amount of logic and problem solving. The names of the items looked for help build vocabulary and the hunt for the objects in a picture promotes visual memory and discrimination. These games are great fun even for adults who will also be challenged by puzzles. Dad and kids can have some fun squinting at the screen while looking together for the little objects on beautifully drawn images. And the puzzles can be played alone while dad takes a break to read the paper or go make a cup of coffee.
