Concerned about tooth decay in kids? Give them a box of raisins

Fathers who are concerned about their children’s dental health, as well as cutting down on foods with too much sugar, can kill two birds with one stone thanks to raisins.

According to a recent study, researchers found that the oleanolic acid found in raisins was shown to suppress Streptococcus mutans biofilm, which causes tooth decay in a person’s mouth.

The American Dental Association has called childhood tooth decay the single most chronic disease in kids.

Fathers who are hoping to change the diet habits of their sons and daughters may want to eat the raisins with their children. Studies have shown that telling fathers to lead by example is good parenting advice because children will be more likely to follow.

Children who eat foods with high sugar content are at a higher risk of being obese and developing conditions such as heart disease.

Plus, children who are taught healthy habits at an early age are also more likely to continue that practice through adulthood. So why not complement the healthy snack with some time outside running around with the kids?
