Review: Aprica Presto (Lightweight stroller)

January 17, 2011 by re@sfsdfsdf.com Leave a Comment

When I pulled the Aprica Presto stroller out of the box, it was apparent that this one is sturdier than most “lightweight strollers”, no rattling or “tin”-iness about it. It assembled easily and quickly by snapping the wheels into place and unfolding it required a simple pull up on the handles (though intuitively, I kept wanting to push down) and a push down of the locking … [Read more...] about Review: Aprica Presto (Lightweight stroller)

Toddler calls 911 to report “naughty” dad to Santa

January 15, 2011 by Paul Banas Leave a Comment

We won't even let our kids talk about Christmas presents until Thanksgiving. Here's a family for whom that rule would be triply important. Their 4 year old is calling 911 to fink on dad about being "naughty." Owen Wilson is pregnant. No, he is not playing a pregnant man boy caught in a love triangle with his best friend and love of his life, but is going to be a dad in real life.  A source told UsMagazine.com that Wilson and his girlfriend Jade Buell will be having a baby "due any day." Wilson gained a lot of press a few years ago threatening to commit suicide during a break-up … [Read more...] about Owen Wilson to be a first-time dad

Breastfeeding boys do better in school

January 12, 2011 by Paul Banas Leave a Comment

Here is more evidence that dads should help moms breastfeed for as long as possible, and for at least six months. The New York Times reported today on a study in Australia of 1038 babies who were later tested for academic performance at age 10 in math, reading, writing, and spelling.  After controlling for mom's age, marital status, income, and other factors, they found that … [Read more...] about Breastfeeding boys do better in school

Great Dad Talks

Great Dad Talks is a series of conversations with experts on all aspects of the family adventure. With the perspective that “dads don’t always think like moms,” our mission is to support dad voices and our slightly different approaches to parenting. We’ll try to find solutions to every day challenges like getting kids off the couch and making STEM classes available for both boys and girls. But we’ll also tackle bigger issues when they come. The one main theme will be to support dads in the most important role of their lives that of being a great dad.
