Review: Loopz Memory Game

November 5, 2010 by Paul Banas Leave a Comment

Your kids will love Loopz, even if you can't stand to have it in the same room. Loopz is one of those sound memory games that comes out every holiday season, and I'm sure will be a big hit this year. At $30, it's a little pricey, but still affordable and your kids will likely get their (or your) money's worth. Like a lot of games in this genre, Loopz uses colored lights and … [Read more...] about Review: Loopz Memory Game

Review: New favorite toy in the house: Perplexus 3D Labyrinth

November 4, 2010 by Paul Banas Leave a Comment

We love the new Perplexus, a new toy from Plasmart that takes the old Brio Labyrinth to the third dimension. Perplexus is a clear plastic globe, with a labyrinth inside. It requires turning the 1 foot in circumference ball over and over to move the ball through a series of maze boundaries and obstacles. Lego Advent calendars go fast!

September 17, 2010 by Paul Banas Leave a Comment

It's probably really sacrilegious, but my kids adore these Lego Advent calendars. There are 24 little goodies in the typical Advent calendar packaging, but instead of chocolates, kids (or adults?) get little Lego characters, or tiny city objects to put together. I personally like the City series best, since the objects actually have something to do with the season, like little … [Read more...] about Lego Advent calendars go fast!

Great Dad Talks
Great Dad Talks

Great Dad Talks is a series of conversations with experts on all aspects of the family adventure. With the perspective that “dads don’t always think like moms,” our mission is to support dad voices and our slightly different approaches to parenting. We’ll try to find solutions to every day challenges like getting kids off the couch and making STEM classes available for both boys and girls. But we’ll also tackle bigger issues when they come. The one main theme will be to support dads in the most important role of their lives that of being a great dad.
