Location, Location, Location. Find a great place to put your stand for maximum traffic. If you live on a dead end street, traffic just won’t be enough for the stand to be fun for more than a few minutes. It gets very lonely standing on a quiet street in the middle of day under the summer sun.
Get the best quality. Buy cartons of pre-made or fresh-made lemonade. Now is not the time to buy sugar water.
Charge a lot. Adults who buy lemonade on the street won’t consider too much the difference between $.75 and $1.00 or even $1 and $2, especially if you’re giving part of the money to charity. Most adults are just charmed to see kids running an old fashioned lemonade stand.
Get some cookies too. if you can sell some bottled water or packaged cookies, you can double your sales.
Run your stand 2 days in a row to learn from mistakes.
Get the word out in the neighborhood.
Enlist help. – A lemonade stand is a lot more fun to run with a buddy, though having a dad help out is a pretty good fall-back position.
