- Location, Location, Location. Find a great place to put your stand for maximum traffic. If you live on a dead end street, traffic just won’t be enough for the stand to be fun for more than a few minutes. It gets very lonely standing on a quiet street in the middle of day under the summer sun.
- Get the best quality. Buy cartons of pre-made or fresh-made lemonade. Now is not the time to buy sugar water.
- Charge a lot. Adults who buy lemonade on the street won’t consider too much the difference between $.75 and $1.00 or even $1 and $2, especially if you’re giving part of the money to charity. Most adults are just charmed to see kids running an old fashioned lemonade stand.
- Get some cookies too. if you can sell some bottled water or packaged cookies, you can double your sales.
- Run your stand 2 days in a row to learn from mistakes.
- Get the word out in the neighborhood.
- Enlist help. – A lemonade stand is a lot more fun to run with a buddy, though having a dad help out is a pretty good fall-back position.
