Tips for avoiding bullying

Mark Twain said, "there are lies, damn lies and statistics". So the numbers on bullying will trend up or down, depending on who's doing the research and what their agenda is.

Some of the biggest hurtles parents need to clear are: *repeating worn cliches *thinking one solution will work in all situations *expecting school employees or policy makers to protect their kids.

Over the course of my professional career, I've bully-proofed hundreds of kids. Recently, I've organized into a blueprint parents can use to work with their own children at home. It covers everything from teasing to gossip to social exclusion to actual physical confrontations.
