New Dad-Tested Products Win Fathers Day Awards for Helping Dads Be Better Fathers

June 14, 2011 by GreatDad Writers Leave a Comment

Here is a copy of the press release that appears on prweb.com:

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 14, 2011 — Mr. Dad and GreatDad.com have announced Seal of Approval winners for Fathers Day 2011. Fathers Day is Sunday June 19, 2011.

Every quarter, the two leading dad websites look for products and services that are meaningful for modern dads who are involved in every aspect of parenting.

Mr. Dad and GreatDad.com have awarded the seals to products from small companies as well from some of the world’s biggest brands including National Geographic, HABA USA, and Nintendo. The combined awards recognize companies whose products and services help dad in his role and provide experiences that keep him close to his kids.

“This Fathers Day, we’re more impressed than ever about new products oriented toward dads. More manufacturers are understanding not only the key role dads play in kids’ lives, but also how they make purchases in a different way than moms. Our goal is to help consumers find products that dads can relate to and that will help them get closer to their kids, whether that is in the basics of changing and feeding, or playing together on the floor. Some products and toys just fit better into the dad style of parenting,” said Paul Banas of GreatDad.com.

“Dads consistently tell us that time with their children is the most precious thing in their lives,” adds Armin Brott, founder of MrDad.com and author of eight best-selling books on fatherhood, including the recently released The Military Father: A Hands-on Guide for Deployed Dads. “The products and services that receive our Seals of Approval are ones we—and our panel of dad testers—believe are excellent tools for helping fathers get the best out of that time and build and maintain strong relationships with their children, regardless of their age.”

A panel of dad experts judged products or services based on whether the products:

  • Improve the quality of father-child time
  • Improve father child relationships
  • Help dads be better parents and partners

Father’s Day awards recipients in each category are:

Pregnancy and Infancy

  • Baby Hip Hugger

  • Las Estaciones (The Seasons) Spanish DVD and Cha, Cha, Cha Spanish Music CD
  • Building Block Technics (HABA USA)
