Safety First—at Every Age (Ten Months)

Always remember

Buckle your baby
into a car safety seat before you start the car. Keep the seat facing backward until your baby is
one year old and weighs at least 20 nds. The back seat is the safest place for babies and
children.

Stay with your baby when he is playing near or in water. Never leave your baby alone
in a bath or a pool. Babies can drown in just a few inches of water.

Never, ever shake your
baby.

Keep your baby away from things that could burn him. Don’t eat, drink, smoke or carry
anything hot while holding him.

Put your baby to sleep on his back unless your doctor has
told you to do otherwise. Insist that others who care for your baby do the same.

Serve
healthy foods. Avoid sweetened, salty or fatty ones.

Lock up guns, alcohol, drugs and
chemicals such as cleaning solutions. These can kill your baby.

Put away knives, matches and
other items that can hurt your baby. Put them in a place your exploring baby can’t reach or
open.

Great Dad Talks
Great Dad Talks

Great Dad Talks is a series of conversations with experts on all aspects of the family adventure. With the perspective that “dads don’t always think like moms,” our mission is to support dad voices and our slightly different approaches to parenting. We’ll try to find solutions to every day challenges like getting kids off the couch and making STEM classes available for both boys and girls. But we’ll also tackle bigger issues when they come. The one main theme will be to support dads in the most important role of their lives that of being a great dad. 166. Unlocking Kids’ Musical Potential with Andrew Ingkavet
byPaul Banas

Are you a parent who wishes their child loved music as much as you do?

In this episode, I chat with Andrew Ingkavet about how to spark a love of music in children. Andrew shares his journey, techniques for teaching young kids music, and the importance of finding the right approach. Discover why starting music before the “inner editor” kicks in is crucial, how to instill habits of daily practice without pressure, and how to find the right teacher who inspires rather than intimidates.

Whether you’re a parent or music teacher, you’ll gain valuable insights on creating a positive, engaging musical experience for your child.
