It was a light year for us seeing the movies, and few were Dad flicks. The only one we saw together with the kids was Paul Blart Mall Cop, which would fit the bill for #2 on your list.

Best dad in a film would have to be Ben Stiller in Night in the Museum 2, although Ice Age 3 is a great one for dad to watch with their kids. We all laughed hysterically over that film and there is a message about family in there.

I think Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is a good movie for Dads and kids to watch together. Their relationship starts off really rocky, but by the end the dad realizes he has to accept his son as he is.

There are not a lot of great movies out there with great dads, however, I vote for Steve Martin, who has new movie out, Christmas Day. He is always a cool dad or he tries to be.
I would love to win this Christmas giveaway to share with my family.

wow. great books, but I’ll have to give some thought on all 4!

Best about dads and kids: The Road – bleak and depressing but honest about the existential legacy of fathers

Best for Dads and Kids – Madagascar 2 – we laughed our tails off!

Best dad – Ben Stiller in Night at Museum 2 – wins the day, again!

Best supporting dad – Jeffrey Tambor in The Hangover – now that’s a great dad-in-law!

Anyone see The Father in Korean?

I think that boys and their fathers should watch UP together. The message to me is that sometimes a “father” won’t always arrive in the form of biological genetics, and that sometimes a “father” is a man who sticks by you, listens to you, helps you when you are in need, and teaches you to do the homorable thing. To me, UP was about love, both conventional (with his wife) and unexpected (with Russel).

My best dad in the best starring role for a dad category is Lance Clayton in World’s Greatest Dad. He wants to do the right thing for his son, for his students and for himself. And I like Robin Williams, he plays a great role as a dad.
