It's no secret that most kids aren't big fans of school, and after a long day in the classroom, the last thing they want to do is talk about it. However, as a father, it's important to connect with your kids, and asking about their experiences at school is a great way to get to know what they like and dislike, their struggles and success, and who they're growing into.
It can still be difficult to get your kids to open up, though, so check out these fives things you should say to your kids to start a conversation about their days at school
The key to getting your kids talking is to be specific. Open-ended questions like "How was your day?" are too broad to be of much good to a kid, but focusing on certain aspects of their school days can lead to more interesting and longer answers.
