Choosing an adoption lawyer or agency: Parents speak

Great Dad Talks is a series of conversations with experts on all aspects of the family adventure. With the perspective that “dads don’t always think like moms,” our mission is to support dad voices and our slightly different approaches to parenting. We’ll try to find solutions to every day challenges like getting kids off the couch and making STEM classes available for both boys and girls. But we’ll also tackle bigger issues when they come. The one main theme will be to support dads in the most important role of their lives that of being a great dad. Connect with us at greatdad.com and watch the video version of these podcasts at YouTube.com/greatdadnews
In this episode, Sean Dawson of Raising Men shares what he’s learned from interviewing many guests about masculinity, transmitting values, and raising kids with intention—especially with a son who has big energy in a culture that often tries to suppress boyhood. We explore the current “crisis of masculinity,” why it’s not a zero-sum game for boys and girls, and Sean’s framework of courage, character, and purpose. Sean reframes modern protection as creating emotional safety, compares performative strength to real strength, and explains how planning matters while staying flexible. He also shares how a friend’s tragic loss made him more intentional with his own son, and offers two core takeaways: give yourself grace and lead by modeling the man you want your kids to become.
Whether you’re a new dad or a seasoned father, you’ll find relatable stories, actionable tips, and plenty of wisdom in this conversation.

my wife, i and her daughter (from another man) plan on moving from NC to RI in order to be closer to family and our support group. however, the father is telling us he cant afford to pay for the two 2 week visitations during the summer and instead he wants her for an entire month straight. my wife says that is unacceptable because the child’s father has never had her for longer then a long weekend. the father say he is going to take us to court over this. can anyone tell me what we should expect?
I agree–couldn’t make it without the help of a guide.
When I go to court, the friend of the court is always on the ex-wife side. At 1st paying was not a problem , but almost dieing from inter-feron for H-C, I ask for reduction, Judge called me a dead beat dad. So at 136 lbs. I worked harder with a broken neck and back that did not heil , know 4 yrs. later I have to have both surgeries again and I’m a Dead Beat Dad that can’t work, going threw bankrupcey and there are no sights for help. We all need to get together and change a law written in 1938. After all, it’s about the kids is sent it. But they make loving fathers and mothers the bad guys. Even when we want too.
I need to know if there is anyone in my area that offers affordable legal advise for a soon to be, (fighting) single father. IE Custody, Rights and thus on. I appreciate any help.
Hello guy’s.I’m a recently separated dad of 2 children(not married) can anyone tell me of a good settlement lawyer in the northern suburbs.
Thanks.
Single dad I live in Los Angeles. My son was born in northern California and currently lives there with his mother. I am very actively involved in my sons life but traveling back and forth is very expensive and its hard for me. I want my son to be closer to me but the mother doesn’t seem to want to work with me. Ive been there since day one and need to seek legal advice; and help would be great.
